Stress-relief. |
|
Feeling the level of responsiblity(and stress) build up recently as the role of RP I/C starts sliding off the ex-I/C and unto me. Boss relying more on me to get stuff done nowadays. Prob the only 'fun' part of the job is controlling who gets to clear their off on which days, which really requires a nominal amount of foresight coupled with keen acumen on the job scope of each individual.
After a particularly stressful week ending with a guard duty on Fri, I came home today feeling pretty in need of an outing or something that will temporarily enable me to numb my senses and in the most literal sense of the word, chill. Weird part was I didn't feel the least bit sleepy which is usually the case after a 24hr guard duty. Ended up stoning at home alternating between the TV and my trusty com, playing NFSUG2, and watching whatever our dear local stations broadcast on a hot and humid Sat afternoon.
Felt so sick of myself stoning, and just not being productive, I decided on yet another workout session. By workout I mean a combination of running and other simple exercises like pull-ups and sit-ups and what-not you can achieve using the oh-so-user-friendly facilities at the fitness corner downstairs. And NO I'm not being sarcastic. I really thank the HDB for planning and locating such facilities in such approximity to our blocks (then again not many ppl use the facilities).
Decided to try a new combo running route, spanning running tracks and connectors in what I call the triumvurate of neighbourhoods in my area. Covered roughly 3.2km in all, estimated coz I realized the distance markings on the tracks didn't happen to coincide close enough with my chosen route. (And suddenly I realize I'm sounding like my dear friend Peikee in his rants about his triathlon training).
Will be meeting up with not-so-long-time-no-see buddies Junrong and Davin tmr. Realised I still owe JR his Jap cd hehe. Oops. Tmr will definitely be more happening than today.
