1 word to sum up my day - INSANE.
Woke up at 6.30am to go "tomb-sweeping" (literal translation). Traces of flu when I got outa bed. Travelled to some far away place but the experience wasn't as long/hot/boring as I thought. Although I have practically zilch memories of my grandad, looking at his picture on the tomb stirs up some inner emotions of recognition and familiarity.
Took a train with parents dwon to Bugis after that to get my mom's hardware upgrade done. Well the "upgraded" phone was my choice, since my mum was gonna pass it to me, so I ended up with a W800i on promotion today. First ever camera phone, excited. Didn't have time to play with it as I had to meet Melvyn for lunch and writing of the cards for Andie's bday.
Went to Coffee Express 2000 foodcourt @ Bras Basah Complex with Mel, and settled a hasty lunch. Walked around Popular looking for some materials for Andie's photo-collage, then met Huiyan to write her greetings. Got caught in the rain at the Resident's Corner and had to stone in there for a while. Flu bug hit me real real bad then, felt like concussing.
Cheonged cab with Mel back in the rain that was already affecting visibilty. Amazed by the cabbie's skill of navigation even tho I couldn't see shit from the back seat. Mortally afraid for the first time riding a cab.
Went home, popped flu pills, then slept till 5pm. Woke up, played around with my phone a little, then Wanhin came @ 6.30++. Work began on the photo collage. Not as difficult as I thought. Yixin came with dinner for both of us @ 7plus, then continued work till 10 thereabouts. Kian hai joined us and we took yet another cab down to Lavender to surprise Andie.
Not much of a shock, since she kinda suspected I think. Cabbed down (yep we spent lots on public transport) to Selegie for Rochore tauhuay, but ended up having prata n drinks at the coffee shop next door as there wasn't a table that could accomodate us. Kian Hai left for his shuffling session halfway.
Trooped down for Pool @ Paradiz. Yixin learnt to play, and took a while getting used to it. Played till 1am then left. Hung around outside Paradiz around the steps, and cut the cake there. Camera's card died straight after the group shot. All photos gone damnit. Tried to salvage by taking some with my new phone cam but too much low light and noise. Now can only rely on Yixin's pics...
Walked the gals backed home then Mel, Wanhin n me shared a cab (again) home. What a day.
Retiring..cyaz.
Pics will be up as soon as I get them. What hard luck to lose all the nice pics I took at the celebration, and those earlier this morning at the tomb. I'm sad...
