Haha, started on my job as a dog handler le. Overall rating: satisfying, but tiring.
The days starts with us falling in for role-call, then proceeding to the compound to clean the kennels. Messy stinky job, especially if your dog likes to 'play' with its shit, and urine. Cleaning has to be thorough, or your dog will eventually catch some disease and you'll die...weee. While some people are cleaning, the rest take their dogs out for a little exercise and for them to excrete in a slightly 'natural' environment on grass. Have to watch out for 'booby traps' in the grass even as we're walking the dogs. Oh yes forgot to mention, I got one huge dog and one smaller one - a Russian Sheperd and a English Spaniel. Cute la, but still not exactly used to them.
Today we tried basic obedience drills. Quite amazing to be able to 'control' the dog as make it follow your movements, feeling a little proud le hehe. Seems to be not that bad handling dogs after all. Going for further courses after this 2 weeks.
Haiz, looks like my leave might be cancelled, or worse wasted. Since I'm on course, not gonna be able to make it for leave. Sighz..argh. Gonna spend my bday wif my doggies....haha...haiz.
