VJC Openhouse
Oh man, lotsa thoughts about this.

WARNING: POST IS GONNA BE A LONG RANT...

Went back to VJ openhouse today. First thing that hit me were the people in rollerblades at the gate offering goodie-bags. Hehe, think i pissed off a gal who was attempting to offer me a bag, coz I was like no thanks. The usual stuff was up for display lor. Standard booth layout - Performance arts around canteen and carpark, sports in hall, others in concourse.

Met JJ, Akshay and Man Thye at the iComp booth. Was very happy to see that at least some people from our batch turned up. Went exploring with the 2 guyz. Took a walk around the concourse, passing by the Art Club booth. A bit sad, considering it was made up of 4 or 5 yr1 art students working on their unfinished masterpieces. No showcase of the other things we do, but oh well, it's not a recruitment! TzeQi (I can't exactly remember her name) kindly informed us that the Yr2s' coursework were on display at V21, but not after mistaking us for Sec4 visitors and giving an explanation of the art course and art club...haha. It wasn't until I said "Hello, you don't recognize me meh?" that she realised i was Yr3, haha.....very funny.

Went up to V21, viewed the cool stuff on display, and another junior, think it was Angela, again mistook us for sec sch visitors, and started to explain about the courseworks.. Haha, again we let her go on for a short while before revealing that I happend to be the ex-Multimedia Head, and started asking what on earth happened to my department. (apparently it crashed, almost declining to exist now). A trip to the Robo lab ensued, and JJ as expected took to the revivial of his 'dead' micromouse, while AK and I decided to continue our little roam around the school.

Our walk took us to the area between the canteen and the LTs, where they laid the carpet for a group that was performing there. We spotted Mr Phang from there, and went over to say hi. Apparently he's leaving in 3weeks, so erm, if u gals wanna visit him plz do so quickly? Or else have to go visit his house liao. Received a call from Chunli and Steph(seniors) then telling us that they arrived already, so we went to meet them.

Proceeded to the hall with the whole group to check out the sports stalls, and as usual got approached by lotsa people trying to promote their CCAs and there was this incredibly funny 'talkshow' up on stage by a member of the fencing society talking about Kevlar protection in the mask and whatnot. AK and me were laughing our heads off as 2 poor visitors were trying on the masks. Out of the hall there the basketball courts were full, and I met some of my students playing there. Oh yes, they re-opened the rock wall and flying fox thingy finally. Saw some people flying down, seemed real cool!

Broke up from the group and went up to the Art room to check out if there were any Yr2s in there. The room looks as messy as ever. Ended the visit with a lunch with the guyz in canteen. Haven't eaten Batered Fish from Western Food auntie for ages liao. Fantastic, was reminescing as I ate. Went home feeling really great, was sad to leave, wanted to soak in the atmosphere more, but there was really not much to do.

Been talking to some juniors today and tonight. I have this sudden impulse to step in and do something about the recruitment and membership of Art Club. My next project is to re-design the club website, and probably include a blog or something. I also wanna revivie my department!! Also have to try to recruit more talents by showcasing what we actually do and give a good impression. Well, all these have to wait till year-end. For now, I'm still working on HUES, trying to finish up the prototype.

To end my report on Openhouse. NIL SINE LABORE!!!
